May 18 fight against cancerCancer is a disease, an epidemic, a fear of a life cut short or a loved one lost long before their time. Many of us have been touched in some way by this condition - whether personally or through someone close to us. Cancer is a scary thing because, quite honestly, no one knows what causes it or how it fix it. Hopefully through continued research, we'll one day find a cure. I'm currently training for a century (that's a 100-mile bike ride) with Team In Training. For those of you have have never heard of it, it's an endurance training program that's part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. Their goal is to raise money for cancer research and patient care, and ultimately to one day eradicate blood cancers. As part of the program, I'm training for an endurance event and raising money to further the society's cause. I personally believe it's an important one -- hopefully we will one day find a cure. If you agree and would like to help, I encourage you to make a donation. Every penny gets us one step close to a cure! I've set up a safe, secure, and convenient website for accepting donations online. Check it out at http://www.active.com/donations/fundraise_public.cfm?key=ncollins. Thanks for everyone's support!
